This is an updated list of all upcoming console exclusives announced for Xbox Series X and Xbox One so far. As of right now, the following games are confirmed for PC & Xbox consoles only. When more exclusive games are announced this list will be updated.
NOTE: Many more games will be added to this list soon. In July Microsoft will hold there 20/20 event featuring 1st & 2nd party exclusive game announcements.
Halo Infinite
The wait is finally almost over. After more than 5 years of development Masterchief will make his return on Xbox One and for the first time launching on Xbox Series X around holidays 2020. I’m 100% hyped!
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 (Series X Only)
I still can’t believe the first Hellblade game was developed by a team of 20. Hellblade can easily be mistaken as a big AAA game with its top-notch story, atmosphere, graphics, and narration. Hellblade 2 is being developed by a team double the size with a little over 40. The in-engine gameplay trailer above looks absolutely insane. Don’t underestimate Ninja Theory’s small but very talented development teams. They are already proven to create amazing games.
Project Mara
Project Mara is an experimental horror game that will attempt to recreate the terror of mental health issues. This game is based on real-lived experiences and in-depth research.
MS Flight Simulator
Do you want to fly real airplanes across the entire world? In MS Flight Simulator you can. The entire planet Earth has been mapped accurately in its entirety. With beautiful groundbreaking simulation and visuals, MS Flight Simulator is the most anticipated simulation game ever.
EVERWILD
Not much is known about Everwild. Judging by the trailer we do know it’s an open-world Co-Op adventure game. With lots of nature. Both good and evil nature reside in this world. I’m getting a lot of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild vibes from this trailer. I can’t wait to see more!
Gears Tactics
This spin-off was a surprise to me. I always knew Gears Of War could be made into a Turn-based tactics game. I didn’t think they would actually ever make it. After the positive reviews on PC. I’m hyped to be able to play this game on my Xbox Series X when it releases.
Grounded
A survival adventure game inspired by the classic movie “Honey I Shrunk The Kids”. Being the size of an ant you’ll embark on an adventure unlike any other. You’ll have to Explore, build, survive, and try to find a way to become big again.
Crossfire X
A free to play Counter-Strike inspired First-Person Shooter!!! Being a Counter-Strike fan I’m very excited for Crossfire X. The gameplay and graphics look legit. The music in this trailer was a perfect match for the game :D. DMX – “X Gon’ Give It To Ya”.
Tell Me Why
Tell Me Why is a unique narrative adventure game similar to Life Is Strange. Tell Me Why’s story touches on sensitive topics of troubled childhoods and transgender identity. If you’re a fan of narrative adventure games, you should keep an eye out for Tell Me Why.
Battletoads
Battletoads is back with a brand new remake. This game has received harsh criticism because of its cartoony graphics and gameplay. With many gamers saying the remake isn’t loyal to the franchise’s art style. I heard from an insider that Battletoads is being reworked on at the moment. This game is still releasing this year.
The Medium (Series X Only)
The Medium is a horror game inspired by the Silent Hill series. As the medium, you’ll cycle through two different worlds, the real and the spirit one. The story looks very interesting. The little actual gameplay seen looks gorgeous. I can’t wait to see more of this game!
Scorn (Series X Only)
Scorn is a very strange looking horror game. It’s obviously inspired by H. R. Giger’s famous art. Scorn’s art style and atmosphere look disturbing and awesome at the same time. The gameplay description also seems interesting. A gruesome first-person horror adventure game with puzzles! This sounds amazing!
The Ascent
Is The Ascent essentially a Cyberpunk Diablo with guns? Why yes it is! Then count me in on day 1! As a big fan of both Ruiner and Diablo, I’m naturally hyped for this. Watching the alpha footage gameplay. I noticed a few awesome nextgen elements. Like no loading screens, superior textures, lighting, and particle effects.
Call Of Sea
When I first saw Call Of The Sea revealed I thought it was related to Sea Of Thieves lol. It has a similar art style. Very attractive beautiful and vibrant colors. I later found out it’s an first-person adventure puzzle game that takes place in the 1930s. You’ll play as Norah a woman on a quest to find her missing husband. If you’re a fan of puzzle games this is definitely one to watch for.
Second Extinction
Second Extinction is a 3 player co-op dino shooter with great graphics and non-stop action. While playing with friends online you’ll shoot your way through mobs of mutated dinosaurs. But best of all mutated T-Rex’s are confirmed to be in the game!
The Falconeer
The Falconeer is an arcade flight shooter created by one person named Tomas Sala. It’s extremely impressive that one dev could create a game so beautiful and functional. It’s also unique. Instead of controlling airplanes, you’ll be riding a giant falcon armed with firepower. Being a fan of Crimson Skies and other arcade flight shooters I’m genuinely hyped for this indie title.
Kart Rider Drift
Sadly we won’t ever see Super Mario Kart on Xbox consoles. It’s ok though because Kartrider: Drift is the next best thing. Oh, and it’s free to race (AKA: free to play).
Tunic
Tunic is another eye-catching indie game. It looks to be inspired by classic Zelda games. The colorful graphics, lighting, and combat are very eye-catching. Tunic was first revealed in 2018. There hasn’t been much mainstream news about Tunic lately. Created by one person named Andrew Shouldice. Andrew has confirmed this game is still on target to release sometime in 2020.
Session
The popular PC skateboarding simulator Session was confirmed to release exclusively on Xbox One consoles last year. It was supposed to release in December of 2019. Then it got pushed back to March of 2020. Now the devs are saying it will release by June 20th. Hopefully, this date isn’t delayed, but at this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was.
END NOTE: As you can see Xbox has a large variety of console exclusive games coming soon. So when a fanboy says… “Xbox has no games”. Please send them this updated list xD.
If we missed a console exclusive, please let us know in the comments below.
Great list. I’m excited. 😀
Thank You. Yes, I can’t wait to have series X in my hands 😀
